LudlowRentals.com is a locally owned business — run by Allen Clark, a Cavendish host himself (the two founding houses above are his) and an Okemo ski patroller. It's not a co-op, not a Silicon Valley platform, and not Vail. It's a local alternative to Airbnb, built to keep booking fees in the Okemo Valley: guests find your home here, and book it your way — direct with you, or on Airbnb or Vrbo. You keep your listings, your calendar, your prices, and your guest money. We never touch a booking payment.
Platforms take roughly 15% of a booking one way or another. On a $1,200 stay that's about $180. A guest who books you direct skips most of that — you can split the saving with them and still come out ahead. One saved fee can cover a quarter of a year on the Standard plan.

LudlowRentals.com is run by Allen and Daniela Clark of Cavendish, Vermont — locals, homeowners, and hosts ourselves. We're not a company from away: we live about ten minutes from the Okemo base, and the two founding houses on this site are ours — a riverfront home right here in Cavendish and an off-grid camp. When Airbnb changes a rule or raises a fee, we feel it on our own bookings first.
Allen is a ski patroller at Okemo in the winter and a website designer who builds sites for local businesses the rest of the year — he designed and built this one. Daniela manages websites professionally for a large international boating company. Between hosting, patrolling, and building for the web, this valley is our whole life.
We started LudlowRentals because we know the plight of depending on Airbnb alone: roughly 15% taken off the top, policies that change overnight, and the standing risk that one automated suspension can wipe out a whole season with nobody to call. So we built the local alternative we wanted for our own houses — and opened it to our neighbors.

Where your fee goes: most of the money this site makes from listing fees goes straight back into marketing — advertising the site so every home listed here gets seen by the skiers and families coming to Okemo. When the site grows, every host on it grows.
You pay for the listing and the marketing. You never pay a percentage of a booking — that's the whole point of leaving the platforms. Cancel any time after your first season; annual plans are refunded pro-rata if we ever shut the site down.
Why the member price on photos? Your listing is on our site — your home looking its best is our advertising too. Everybody wins.
This is the flow on every listing page. The guest sends a request — not a confirmed booking. It forwards straight to the host, who accepts, blocks the dates in their own calendar (which syncs out to Airbnb and Vrbo), and sends the guest their own payment link and lease. LudlowRentals.com never takes the money.
